About Zeta Tau Alpha at Michigan State University

Zeta Tau Alpha is one of the largest National Panhellenic sororities with over 191,000 women sharing this commonality between them around the country. As a Zeta, you gain a lifetime of friendships, opportunities to serve others, leadership growth and a commitment to high academic and personal standards. Our chapter at Michigan State University is a very prominent and strong chapter on campus. With such a strong philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, we are constantly getting involved in the community and making differences in other peoples’ lives. In addition to having excellence in our philanthropy and academics, we also find the time to plan many social events, which include: Date parties, Semi-Formal, Formal, Sports events, IM teams, and sisterhoods. We find ourselves to be very down to earth and personable. Most importantly, Zeta’s at Michigan State know how to make the most out of their college experience!

Philanthropy Events: 5K Walk/Run, Yoplait® Save Lids to Save Lives Campaign, and Race for the Cure

Nationally, Zeta Tau Alpha relies on each individual chapter to donate to the ZTA Foundation; the ZTA Foundation is responsible for awarding scholarships to collegiate members, planning leadership programs for ZTA officers, producing breast self exam shower cards and millions of pink ribbons, and donating to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The Michigan State Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha works on numerous philanthropy events throughout the year to support our Foundation with our annual 5K Walk/Run and a yogurt eating contest to collect Yoplait lids. Along with those, we also co-sponsor Race for the Cure, relying on Zetas to staff the Survivor tent, spend a day downtown at Ford Field passing out pink ribbons with the Detroit Lions, and participate in Yoplait® Save Lids to Save Lives Campaign. Last fall, nationally members of Zeta Tau Alpha collected 311,617 pink Yoplait lids--a 68 percent increase over the previous year. Our chapter raised 2,238! For each pink lid collected, Yoplait donates 10 cents to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure AND an additional 5 cents to the ZTA Foundation.
